Vovó Anamalia & The Orixás
Each month workshops are held in Mount Shasta California.
Vovó Anamalia’s events are presented differently than is commonly seen in the Candomblé and Umbanda traditions of Brazil.
Soul of Our Universe and Universe of Your Soul
Vovó Anamalia talks about the Presence of the Universe, as its own reality, and how the Orixás were formed as this Presence folded upon itself to create an environment called a Universe.
Vovó also speaks of when you first came into our Universe and how you became connected to the Orixás at that time.
Then Vovó focuses on connecting you with the elements found on earth as a preparation for connecting you with the Orixás. From there Vovó guides you to understand and experience your interior and your awareness.
With music and drum, Vovó provides an opportunity for the Energetic Forces of the Universe, called the Orixás, to come forward so that you can experience them through movement and dance. These moments are deeply personal and private.
The workshops are generally 2-3 hours followed by a potluck meal. These events, and all of Vovó Anamalia’s activities are sponsored by the Hayehwatha Institute, a nonprofit 501c3 organization.
