Description of the Orixá Cards

Orixás are energy formations, or vibrations that form the fundamental structures of the universe. These energy formations can also be found on earth as well as within the human physiology.

In the past there were great Seers who could observe the Universe in its totality. They were able to distinguish 2,684 different vibrations. Within these vibrations, they were able to find commonality and group the vibrations first into 386 qualities, then into 68 groups, and then 16 qualities. They were also able to find the commonality between all of these vibrations and the elements of fire, earth, water and air that are found on earth.

The Seers perceived that the various Orixás are alive with personality and intelligence. They named each of the different vibrations as a parent would name a child, with love and reverence. They gave names like Tempo, Oxalá, Iansã, Oxum, Yemanjá Nanã, Ossaim, Oxossi, Obaluaê, Oxumaré, Xangô, Ogum and Elegbara.

The drawings in this packet provide an introduction and a way to connect to the energetic formations of the Universe. By entering into a relationship with the Orixás you can find those qualities or vibrations of the Universe within You. You can receive the protection of the Orixás as well as live in harmony within the consciousness and organization of the Universe, of which you are an integral part.

Andrée Morgana is the artist of the drawings. She received these images from Cosmic Souls who know the Universe. The original drawings are not computer generated. They were all done by hand.

Master drummer Jorge Alabê grew up in Rio de Janeiro immersed in the rich musical culture of Brazil, becoming a master in samba percussion as well as in the Afro-Brazilian tradition of Candomblé.

Jorge is an “Alabê” connected with the oldest Candomblé house established in Brazil, Casa Branca; the title of “Alabê” means that he has obtained the highest level in drumming and leading of rituals in the Candomblé tradition and signifies deep experience and authority.
